Manuel Mera is currently the Director of Social Protection at CIPPEC, the largest think tank in Argentina, where responsibilities include overseeing projects focused on social inclusion, labor, pensions, and gender. As a Policy Consultant and Social Protection Specialist since March 2019, Manuel has conducted significant research, including evaluations for CIPPEC and UNDP. Previously, Manuel served as the Director of Studies and Labor Relations at the Ministerio de Trabajo, Empleo y Seguridad Social, where contributions included preparing cost projections and developing various labor policies. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Government from Georgetown University, where Manuel also conducted research on subnational governments in Latin America. Additional experiences include roles at the Inter-American Development Bank, the National Ministry of Health, and The World Bank, along with a solid foundation in research from earlier positions at Agencia Gubernamental de Control and Fundación Creer y Crecer.
