CIRAD
Julien Demenois currently serves as the Director of the AIDA research unit at CIRAD since October 2017, overseeing a team of approximately forty researchers, engineers, technicians, and doctoral candidates across various locations including Montpellier and regions in Eastern and Southern Africa. Prior to this role, Julien held positions at AgroParisTech and ONF International, where notable work included research on soil erosion and forest carbon initiatives. Julien also contributed to environmental projects and mission coordination at both the Office national des forêts and GIP ECOFOR. Julien’s academic credentials include a Doctorate in functional ecology from the University of Montpellier and engineering qualifications from the Ecole nationale du Génie rural, des Eaux et des Forêts and the Institut national agronomique Paris-Grignon.
