Director - Circularity Gap Solutions at Circle Economy Foundation

Matthew Fraser has a diverse work experience in the field of sustainability and circular economy. Matthew is currently the Head of Research and Development at Circle Economy since January 2022, where they are responsible for leading the development of circular economy initiatives. Prior to this, they worked as the Lead for the Circularity Gap Reporting Initiative from September 2020 to July 2023, focusing on measuring and reporting circularity gaps in various industries. From 2017 to September 2020, Matthew was a Senior Project Manager at Circle Economy, where they successfully managed projects related to circular economy strategy.

Before joining Circle Economy, Matthew owned MWJFraser Consulting from 2011 to 2022, where they provided consulting services in sustainability and circular economy. Matthew has also worked as the Director of Consulting at Metabolic from November 2013 to October 2016, leading a team of consultants and contributing to company strategy and management decisions.

Matthew's earlier experience includes working as an Industrial Ecologist at Except - Integrated Sustainability from June 2011 to September 2013, where they managed various consulting projects and developed frameworks for evaluating sustainability performance. Matthew also worked at TU Delft as a Program Marketing officer from January 2008 to January 2009, where they promoted research in the field of Industrial Ecology and engaged with the sustainable development community.

Overall, Matthew Fraser has a strong background in sustainability consulting, circular economy strategy, and project management.

Matthew Fraser completed their Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Industrial Design at OCAD University from 2003 to 2007. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science degree in Industrial Ecology at Delft University of Technology from 2007 to 2011.
