Nils Walter

Nils Walter is the Francis S. Collins Collegiate Professor of Chemistry, Biophysics, and Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan, where they have been serving since 1999. Nils co-founded aLight Sciences Inc. in 2017, focusing on the development of a new platform for detecting and quantifying single molecules in complex biosamples. Additionally, Nils serves as a consultant on the Strategic Advisory Board for CircNova, Inc. They completed their doctoral studies in Biophysical Chemistry at both the Max Planck Institute and Technische Universität Darmstadt, where they earned their Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Chemistry. Nils also held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Vermont from 1995 to 1999.
