Marcus William Oliveira

Marcus William Oliveira has worked in the electronics and e-waste industry since 2009. From 2009 to 2019, they were the Chief Executive Officer of GRUPO RECICLO, a E-Waste Management Company with expertise in the WEEE Related Programs Design. In 2010, they became the CEO of RECICLO AMBIENTAL, a pioneering company in e-waste consulting for management of end-of-use electronics. From 2011 to 2015, they were the Sustainability Director of ABERE - Brazilian Association of Electro and Electronics Recycling Companies. In 2015, they worked as an E-WASTE INTERNATIONAL EXPERT for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Lastly, from 2019 to present, they are the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Circular Brain Plataforma Tecnologica de Economia Circular Ltda., a Brazilian tech platform that connects the key players in the electronics and e-waste industry.

Marcus William Oliveira has an extensive educational background. Marcus William obtained their Medical Scientist degree from Universidade Santo Amaro - Unisa in 2002, followed by a Master in Science degree from USP - Universidade de São Paulo in 2006. Marcus William then went on to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience from Trinity College Dublin in 2007, where they also worked as a Researcher in Biochemistry and Neuroscience from 2006 to 2007. In 2010, they earned an MBA in Sustainability Management from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas. Marcus William also completed several extra-curricular courses in General Sciences from various institutions between 2002 and 2007. In 2014, they earned an E-WASTE ACADEMY 2014 - MANAGERS EDITION from United Nations University - Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), and in the same year they completed a Business Boot Camp from the same institution. In 2016, they obtained a TOEFL - English Proficiency certification from The TOEFL® test. In 2018, they earned a Certificate in Disruptive Strategy with Clayton Christensen from Harvard Business School, a HSExpo from HSM University, and a Business Administration and Management, General degree from the same institution. In 2020, they obtained a From Linear to Circular certification from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
