Deron McElroy is an accomplished cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in leadership and policy development. Currently serving as the Chief of Cybersecurity at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency since October 2020, McElroy also holds roles as Chief Creative Officer for Lone Star Cyber Podcast and Director of Professional Development for the Alamo ISSA Chapter. Prior to these positions, McElroy was with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for over eleven years, where responsibilities included leading nationwide cybersecurity advisory teams and developing national cyber incident response policies. McElroy has a robust legislative background, having served as Staff Director and Senior Professional Staff Member for the U.S. House of Representatives, providing expert advice on intelligence, counterterrorism, and cybersecurity issues. Educational qualifications include a degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
