Rob Karas is an accomplished cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in assessing and enhancing cybersecurity measures for federal and local government entities. Currently serving as the Deputy Branch Chief of Attack Surface Evaluation at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency since April 2021, Rob leads initiatives to improve national cybersecurity resilience. Prior to this role, Rob was the Associate Director of the Cyber Defense Education and Training (CDET) Sub-Division at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where responsibilities included overseeing cybersecurity education and training programs. In addition, Rob managed the National Cybersecurity Assessments and Testing Service (NCATS), providing critical cybersecurity services to various government stakeholders. Rob's career includes roles at esteemed organizations such as Pragmatics, Inc., Tekmark Global Solutions, Para-Protect, SAIC, and DISA, with a strong academic background that includes a BBA in Information Management from James Madison University and training from the Harvard Kennedy School.
