Sr. Director IT Service Management at Cision

Michael Simon has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Michael started their career at the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, where they were an Assistant Director and later a Senior Project Planner. In these roles, they managed vendor contracts, implemented technology solutions, and provided design and cost estimates for facility improvements.

After that, Simon joined SITA as the Director of Technical Operations. Here, they had the authority to allocate resources for technical support, managed a budget of $6 million, and mentored a team of 25 engineers.

Simon then moved on to Ernst & Young, where they worked as an Assistant Director of Enterprise Systems Management.

Michael later joined ORC Worldwide Inc., which was acquired by Mercer in July 2010. While there, Simon served as the Director of IT, leading and directing all aspects of the corporate IT enterprise. Michael managed teams of IT professionals and implemented systems, desktop, networks, and applications to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Simon continued their career at Mercer as a Principal IT Architect, responsible for leading IT architecture initiatives.

Michael then joined Thomson Reuters as the Director of Workplace Services, overseeing the IT user experience for 10,000 employees in the Eastern US and Canada. Simon proactively addressed support requirements, managed resources for large-scale initiatives, and ensured a consistent and high-performing IT environment.

Simon then held roles at CBS Corporation and A+E Networks as a Vice President, where they were responsible for end user services and support, engineering standards, and executive support. Michael also managed budgets and ensured the delivery of services according to agreed service levels.

Most recently, Simon has been working at Cision as the Senior Director of IT Service Management. In this role, they provide strategic leadership, direction, and mentoring, and is responsible for evolving the company's service management to improve support services and lower operating costs.

Throughout their career, Simon has demonstrated strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills in the field of IT service management and end user support.

Michael Simon has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In addition, they have obtained the ITIL Foundation certification in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in January 2016.
