Despite not having previous experience in the insurance space himself, Johnson was intrigued by the niche businesses that needed coverage but didn’t have good places to get it. Today, Citadel has written over $100 million in gross written premium by protecting unique industries, including transportation, nutraceuticals, decorative artisans, and home inspectors.
