Donnie Phillips has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. Donnie began their career in 2006 as a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst at Evercore Partners. Donnie then served as a Distressed Private Equity Associate at Sun Capital Partners from 2008 to 2009. From 2009 to 2011, Donnie worked as a Private Equity Associate at MidOcean Partners, where they evaluated investments and pursued new investment opportunities.
In 2012, Donnie interned at General Assembly, where they developed and launched the Hiring Partner Program and conducted market research.
Donnie joined Citadel Securities in 2013, initially serving as a Business Manager before being promoted to Vice President and later as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Citadel Execution Services (CES). As COO, they managed day-to-day operations and collaborated with various teams to drive growth in equities, options, and FX businesses. Donnie then became Director, Strategic Finance, leading a team focused on financial decisions, cost improvement, and capital optimization. Currently, they hold the position of Managing Director, Strategic Finance at Citadel Securities, leading a team responsible for driving strategic decisions for financial resources.
In 2018, Donnie also became a Board Member at MEMX, contributing their expertise and insights to the company.
Donnie Phillips completed their education in a chronological order as follows. From 2011 to 2013, they attended The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where they earned an MBA degree specializing in Entrepreneurship and Management. Donnie achieved a remarkable score of 760 GMAT, which placed him in the 99th percentile. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2006, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Economics and Finance at Brandeis International Business School. Before their master's, from 2002 to 2005, Donnie obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and Philosophy from Brandeis University. Additionally, they also hold certifications including the Series 24 from FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) obtained in May 2018 and the Series 7, also from FINRA, obtained in March 2018.
