Ru Pei has a diverse work experience in the fields of quantitative trading, quantitative advising, lecturing, research, and software engineering. They started their career as an intern at Beyond Pricing in 2019 before becoming a software engineering intern at Google. In the same year, they also worked as a technical consultant at Blockchain at Berkeley. In 2020, they worked as a contract software engineer at Microsoft and conducted research as an undergraduate student researcher at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research. They also had a role as a software engineering intern at Citadel Securities. In 2021, Ru Pei worked as an undergraduate student researcher at the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business and had multiple roles as a reader and lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. Currently, in 2022, they are working as a quantitative trader at Citadel Securities.
Ru Pei completed their high school education at The Woodlands Secondary School from 2014 to 2018, earning an OSSD - Intellectually Enhanced Program diploma. In 2016-2017, they attended NYU Stern School of Business, where they studied finance but did not obtain a degree. Later, from 2018 to 2022, Ru Pei pursued a double major at the University of California, Berkeley. They earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science from the College of Letters and Science, while also completing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management, General from the Haas School of Business. In September 2018, Ru Pei also became a lifetime member of Beta Alpha Psi, an international organization awarded by Beta Alpha Psi International (BAP).
