Alex Barley is a Software Engineering Team Lead at Citadel, overseeing the Equity Risk Engineering team with a focus on server-side C++ and kdb/q since November 2021. Prior to this, Alex was a Senior Software Engineer in the Risk and Analytics team of the Equity Quant Research group at Citadel, concentrating on server-side C++. From September 2013 to November 2021, Alex held the position of Software Engineering Team Lead at Bloomberg LP, managing the Cache Infrastructure team and specializing in high-performance server-side C and C++, along with Python scripting. Alex began a career at Bloomberg LP as a Software Engineer in the Systems Authentication & Sessions team and completed an R&D internship in June 2012 at the London office. Alex obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge between 2010 and 2013.
