CITEPLAN is a specialist Town and Regional Planning consultancy dedicated to shaping sustainable, resilient, and thriving communities across South Africa and the African continent. We collaborate with engineers, consultants, and technical experts to deliver integrated solutions that connect vision with implementation and create measurable impact.

Our services span the full spectrum of planning and development, including land use management, strategic spatial planning, small-town regeneration, transport and mobility planning, policy development, property advisory, and sustainable growth strategies. This breadth allows us to respond to complex development challenges with clarity, innovation, and practical solutions that benefit both government and the private sector.

The firm was founded by Eriva Nanyonjo, Charlotte van der Merwe, and Istell Orton-Nightingale, whose combined experience provides comprehensive insight into the developmental requirements of government and the private sector. This foundation gives CITEPLAN a unique perspective on how to align technical excellence with policy priorities, investment decisions, and community aspirations.

We are known for our inclusive and collaborative approach. Through initiatives such as small-town regeneration and community empowerment programmes, we actively involve stakeholders to ensure development is both technically sound and socially responsive. Our team applies project management principles, cutting-edge techniques, and integrated planning methods to deliver results that are resilient and future-ready.

As a 100% women-owned, Level 2 B-BBEE contributor, CITEPLAN is committed to transformation and equity in the planning sector. We are driven by integrity, professionalism, and a belief that every project is an opportunity to design a better future.
