Vice President, Strategy at Citian

Ryan Westrom, P.E., PTP has a diverse work experience in the transportation and mobility industry. Ryan is currently the Vice President of Strategy at Citian starting from October 2022. Previously, they worked at Ford Motor Company as the Head of Mobility Engagement - East Coast, City Solutions from July 2019 to August 2022. In this role, they collaborated with urban mobility leaders to develop insights and policies for future mobility technology development and establish partnerships for the deployment of Ford's solutions. Prior to that, Ryan was the Mobility Partnerships Lead at D-Ford Palo Alto (formerly Greenfield Labs) from July 2017 to September 2019. Ryan worked with public and private partners to identify and meet needs in order to shape the future of mobility. Ryan also has experience working at District Department of Transportation (DDOT) as a Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer in Systems Planning from July 2014 to July 2017. Before this, they worked as a Research and Policy Analyst at Volpe, The National Transportation Systems Center from June 2013 to July 2014. Ryan's early career includes a role as a Project Manager/Transportation Engineer and Planner at Patrick Engineering Inc. from December 2001 to July 2014.

Ryan Westrom, P.E., PTP has a strong educational background with a focus on transportation and civil engineering. Ryan obtained a Master's Degree in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1997 to 2001. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning.

In addition to their academic achievements, Ryan has also obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional skills. Ryan obtained the Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) certification from the Institute of Transportation Engineers in December 2009. In June 2006, they became a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. Furthermore, Ryan has completed the courses "Designing Strategy" and "Insights for Innovation" at IDEO U, obtained in November 2019 and August 2017 respectively.
