Karla Valenzuela Perez

Karla Valenzuela Perez is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in financial regulation and compliance. Currently serving as General Counsel for Consumer Banking and Regulatory Affairs at Citibanamex since December 2021, Karla previously held the position of Director of Legal Strategy and Development at BBVA, where responsibilities included overseeing Anti-Money Laundering, Anticorruption, Data Privacy, and Antitrust areas, as well as participating in key committees. Prior to BBVA, Karla worked at the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público in various roles, contributing to the drafting of financial sector regulations and representing Mexico in international negotiations. Educational credentials include advanced degrees from prestigious institutions, such as a Master in Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School and an Executive Development Program at IPADE Business School.
