Mario Carranza

Mario Carranza is an experienced finance professional with a robust background in risk management and credit approval. Currently serving as Chief Risk Officer at Banamex USA since August 2012, Carranza oversees credit and market risk management for the California Chartered Bank, reporting directly to the CEO and Citibank's Independent Risk Management Organization. Additionally, Carranza has been a Senior Credit Officer for Central America at Citibank since August 2010, responsible for credit approvals across several Central American countries and managing local commercial bank country risk in El Salvador. Prior experience includes serving as President of CAVAT Advisors, S.C., where Carranza led training and credit analysis initiatives, and as Director Ejecutivo at Banco Mercantil del Norte, overseeing the collection of a $4 billion distress portfolio. Carranza's educational background includes studies at Tecnológico de Monterrey and Colegio del Tepeyac.
