Rob Newton has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Rob started their career as a Resources Journalist at Kalgoorlie Miner in 2001 and then moved on to become a Ministerial Media Adviser for the Government of Western Australia in 2003. From 2006 to 2010, they worked as a State Political Reporter for Ten News. In 2010, they joined the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia as a Media and Public Affairs Manager before becoming the Public Relations Manager at Oakajee Port and Rail in 2011. In 2013, they worked as an Associate Director at MAGNUS Investor Relations + Corporate Communication. Rob then joined the WA Department of Sport & Recreation in 2014 as a Communications Manager and later joined CITIC Pacific Mining as a Media Manager in 2014. Rob held various roles at CITIC Pacific Mining, including Manager of Corporate & Government Affairs and eventually became the Head of Corporate Affairs in April 2017.
Rob Newton attended Edith Cowan University from 1991 to 1995, where they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communication and Media Studies.
