Aprajit Sharma

Aprajit Sharma is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in payments transformation and transaction banking across multiple countries. Currently, at Citi since September 2022, Aprajit oversees Asia Divestiture projects in payments and leads a global transformation initiative to enhance domestic payment systems. Previously, at United Overseas Bank Limited from March 2020 to September 2022, Aprajit directed the payment space transformation utilizing the FIS-OPF platform. Aprajit has also held several senior roles at Citi from 2007 to 2020, focusing on strategic innovation in payments and technology for transaction banking, while also managing complex programs related to futures and clearing technology. Early career roles at Verizon Wireless, Lucent Technologies, and River Run Software included project leadership and software engineering, contributing to various IT and communication initiatives. Aprajit holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B-Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.
