David Lowther

Chief Risk Officer, Citi Wealth Management at Citigroup

David is the Chief Risk Officer for Citi Wealth Management. In this role, he manages the Citi Private Bank’s risk profile globally and is a member of the Citi Private Bank Global Leadership Team. He is also a member of the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Risk Management Leadership Team.

In his 25+ year career with Citi, David has held a variety of business and risk positions through international banking assignments in London, New York, Vietnam, and Singapore. He joined Citicorp as a Management Associate in 1989 in the Financial Institutions European Insurance Banking Group, and transitioned to Risk Management in 2003 following assignments in Fundamental Credit, and Vietnam where he was responsible for the Corporate Bank start-up in Ho Chi Minh City following the lifting of the US Trade Embargo in the early 90’s. In Risk Management, David has covered the Global Healthcare and Branded Consumer & Retail ICG franchises from New York, and was the ICG Risk Head for South East Asia before joining the Citi Private Bank Risk team as the Asia Pacific Risk Head in 2011.

David is a Level 1 Senior Credit Officer and holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Technology & Management Science from the University of Bradford.
