George Asante

George Asante is the Managing Director and Head of Markets for Africa at Citi, where they leverage extensive experience in investment banking to grow client franchises. With a strong background in Treasury Management, George has developed skills in optimizing risk/return on balance sheets across various African markets, including Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. Previously, they held senior roles at Barclays and Absa, among others. Outside of their professional responsibilities, George mentors youth and lectures in Banking and Finance at a leading Ghanaian university. George earned both a BSc in Administration and an MBA from the University of Ghana, along with becoming a Chartered Accountant.
