Hackim Abdul

Hackim Abdul is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Country Head and Vice President of the Public Sector Group for Africa at Citi since April 2013. In this role, Hackim has led public sector origination in Sub-Saharan Africa, successfully executing 12 out of 14 African sovereign issuances between 2021 and 2022, and providing sovereign rating advisory and liability management services. Previous positions at Citi include roles in the CEEMEA Debt Capital Markets and EMEA Leveraged Portfolio Group, where Hackim specialized in capital raising, credit analysis, and leveraged finance transactions. Hackim's earlier experience includes working as an Analyst at Chapel Hill Denham and Merbank Stockbrokers Limited. Hackim holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ashesi University and is pursuing an Executive MBA at London Business School.
