Jaap Tonckens

Jaap Tonckens is a board member at CitizenM and a retired Group Chief Financial Officer from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. Jaap has over 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and has been recognized as one of the best CFOs in Europe by Institutional Investor Magazine. Jaap has led many successful initiatives at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, including increasing equity by recruiting more female and minority professionals, reducing average debt cost, and optimizing the investor relations program. Jaap was also instrumental in spearheading the design and delivery of an asset disposal program that produced over €15 billion in proceeds and significant capital gains.

Jaap Tonckens has a Master of Laws (LLM) in Civil & Securities Law from Grotius Academie, an LL.M in Corporate Finance from Emory University School of Law, and a J.D. in Law from Leiden University.
