Michael Montaner

Litigation Lead - Triage - Property & Casualty Claims at Citizens Property Insurance

Michael Montaner has a strong background in litigation and claims management. Michael most recently worked at Citizens Property Insurance Corporation as a Litigation Lead, where they oversaw a team of adjusters, attorneys, consultants, and experts in handling corporate lawsuits related to property and casualty claims. Prior to that, they spent ten years at State Farm, where they served as a P&C Claims Project Specialist, managing large-scale claim investigations and providing corporate direction to legal counsel. Michael also has experience in law enforcement as a Police Officer at the Miccosukee Police Department and in program management at Florida International University. Michael started their career as an Administrative Support intern at the United States Marshals Service. Additionally, they have managerial experience as a Store Manager at All Natural Nutrition and as a File & Data Entry Clerk at Colonial Bank.

Michael Montaner attended Florida International University from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Business Administration. In 2009, they briefly attended Miami Dade College to pursue Basic Law Enforcement (BLE - State of Florida) studies.

In terms of certifications, Michael obtained a Florida 06-20 Adjuster License All-Lines from the State of Florida in October 2011. Later, in March 2021, they obtained a Property & Casualty Adjuster License (Multi-State) from the National Insurance Producer Registry.
