Bregtje Seton

Bregtje Seton is a psychometric researcher at Cito since June 2022 and a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen since January 2011, focusing on first language attrition and the effects of emigration on first language processing through advanced methodologies such as eye tracking, EEG, and behavioral measures. In addition to research, Bregtje Seton serves as a study adviser and admissions coordinator for the MA in Applied Linguistics, teaches courses in research methodology, language attrition, English proficiency, and psycholinguistics, and has held various academic positions, including teacher trainer and lecturer at NHL Stenden Hogeschool. Bregtje Seton’s earlier experiences include a visiting PhD student role at the Rotman Research Institute, a research internship in cognitive development at York University, and student assistant positions at the University of Groningen. Bregtje Seton holds multiple degrees from the University of Groningen, including a Research Master in Linguistics, an MA in English Language and Culture, and a BA in English with a minor in Applied Linguistics.
