Dastu Omer

Dastu Omer has a diverse work experience across various industries and roles. Starting in 2014, they worked as a Food Service Worker at McDonald's until 2016. In 2016, they briefly served as a Lunchroom Supervisor at Edmonton Public Schools. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Childcare Assistant at McCauley Daycare and After School Care.

In 2020, Dastu joined H.E.L.P Homes of Regina as a Casual worker, providing support to adults with cognitive disabilities through implementing personal programs, behavior support plans, crisis cycles, and safety protocols. They also served as a Program Assistant from September 2021 to October 2022.

In 2021, Dastu took on temporary roles as a Census Enumerator at Statistics Canada and as a Central Poll Supervisor at Élections Canada during the federal elections.

In 2022, Dastu began working at Citrus Technology Inc. as a Software Developer, building end-to-end solutions using React and Next.js. They also joined HELP Homes of Regina as a Group Home Operator, continuing their support to adults with cognitive disabilities.

Overall, Dastu Omer has gained experience in customer service, childcare, behavioral support, program implementation, and software development throughout their various roles.

Dastu Omer pursued a Bachelor's degree in BSc Computer Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Regina. This education spanned from 2019 to 2024. In addition, Dastu Omer also obtained a Diploma in Computer Science from the same university, which lasted from 2020 to 2022.

To enhance their skills and knowledge, Dastu Omer also obtained various certifications. In May 2022, they completed the "Digital Skills: User Experience" certification from Accenture. In April 2022, they acquired "The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing" certification from Google Digital Garage. Additionally, Dastu Omer earned a Certificate of Achievement in Presentation Skills Workshop from the University of Regina in February 2022. They also completed PART Training from the Saskatchewan Association for Safe Workplaces in Health in February 2022. Lastly, in April 2021, Dastu Omer obtained the Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the Canadian Red Cross.
