Rogelio Arellano

Software Engineer & Co-founder at Citruslabs

Rogelio Arellano has been an active member of the tech industry since 2010. Rogelio began their career at The University of Texas at El Paso as an IT Specialist and Manager of the ACES Academic Centers for Engineers and Scientists. During this time, they were also an REU Summer Internship Program participant, developing a MATLAB algorithm for renewable energies. In 2012, they moved to Montupet as a Production Software Analyst, where they suggested new ideas to improve production times and reduce costs. In 2013, Rogelio joined FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for guaranteeing the stability of the system and managing inventory systems updates. In 2015, Rogelio became a Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder at MindMate (Techstars NYC '16), a health app for baby boomers and those with memory loss. That same year, they also joined the Ignite Accelerator as a Startup MBA & Acceleration with MindMate LTD. In 2016, Rogelio was part of the Techstars NY Accelerator Program Class 2016, working with early-stage technology startups.

Rogelio Arellano obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso between 2006 and 2011. In 2012, they obtained a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Rogelio also obtained a Lean Manufacturing certification from TMAC in November 2011. In 2014, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Global Innovation Management from the University of Strathclyde, which they finished in 2016.
