Manijeh Fata

Manijeh Fata is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the film and community service sectors. As the Executive Director of the San Francisco Film Commission/Film SF since August 2015, Fata has been instrumental in promoting San Francisco as a premier filming destination, fostering economic development and job creation within the city. Previously, Fata served as Programs Manager at Community Works West, focusing on justice transformation and support for marginalized communities, and as Community Outreach Project Supervisor at KQED, where advocacy for informed citizen engagement and community dialogue was prioritized. Fata holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Social Welfare and Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema from San Francisco State University.
