Travis Kappes

Travis Kappes is a seasoned building inspector and general contractor with extensive experience in residential construction and inspection services. Currently serving as a Building Inspector for the City and County of San Francisco since July 2021, Travis also operates as an Independent Consultant, holding an ICC Residential Building Inspector certification. As the Principal Owner of Travis Kappes Building Design, established in May 2016, Travis provides a range of services including new construction, remodels, and retrofitting. Prior roles include Combination Building Inspector for the City of San Leandro, Construction Foreman for Amber Tru Construction, and Lead Carpenter at Vonnegut Thoreau Construction. Travis began a career in the construction industry after graduating from Kent State University with a focus on Forest Management and Resources.
