Steven Deheeger

Steven Deheeger serves as the Associate Director of Advocacy at City Harvest, where engagement with city, state, and national stakeholders aims to promote an equitable and sustainable food system. With a solid background in advocacy, Steven previously held roles such as Senior Advocacy Manager, leading a coalition of 400 organizations to support food security policies, and as Senior Program Manager, launching an advocacy training program for diverse partners. Additional leadership positions include co-leading strategic planning at Closing the Hunger Gap, chairing the executive board at Just Food, and contributing to community organizing initiatives at various organizations. Steven’s educational background includes advanced degrees in Sustainability, Labor and Industrial Relations, and Urban Studies from prestigious institutions such as Harvard University and The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
