Neisen Kasdin

Neisen Kasdin is the managing partner of Akerman LLP's, Miami office.

Neisen practices in the areas of land use and zoning and as well as public-private partnerships. He has represented Developers Diversified Realty on the development of Midtown Miami. He has also represented both Swire Properties on the approval of the City of Miami's first Special Area Plan for Brickell CityCentre, a 7.5 million square foot mixed use project and Miami Design District Associates in the approval of a Special Area Plan for the development of a 1.3 million-square-foot luxury retail district in Miami's Design District.

Neisen is also currently representing David Beckham in the site selection and development of a Major League Soccer Stadium in Miami as well as the Faena Group in the redevelopment of six oceanfront blocks in Miami Beach.

Neisen helped lead the revitalization of South Beach as Chair of the Community Development Corporation for South Beach and as a City Commissioner and Mayor of Miami Beach. He is currently a governor of the Urban Land Institute. Previously, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the New World Symphony, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Miami Downtown Development Authority, and as Chairman of the Beacon Council.

Neisen was born and raised in Miami Beach and graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and law degree from the University of Florida.

He and his wife, Ana, have two sons, Julian and Eric.
