Mari Cockerell has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism. Mari started their career as an intern at CNN and WTVF NewsChannel 5 in 2001. Mari then worked as a Weekend Anchor/Reporter at Hoak Media of Colorado KREX-TV in 2002, before moving on to become an Evening Anchor at KTXS News from 2003 to 2005. Mari then worked as an Evening Anchor at KTSM NewsChannel 9 El Paso from 2005 to 2008. Mari continued their career at KVUE Media Group as a Reporter/Fill-in Anchor in 2008. Mari'smost recent role was as a Morning News Anchor at KTXS News from 2009 to 2018. Currently, Mari is working as the Communications Director at the City of Abilene, Texas.
Mari Cockerell completed their high school education at Onate High School from 1994 to 1998. Mari then went on to attend Vanderbilt University from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History and Political Science.
