Rick Powell

Rick Powell is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in application development and integration, particularly within public service sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Applications Specialist for the City of Ann Arbor since June 2013, Rick acts as the business-technical liaison for various community services, delivering consulting and support for both third-party software systems and custom in-house data integration. Prior roles include Applications Engineer at ADASHI Systems LLC, focusing on technology solutions for public safety, and Research Scientist at the Michigan Tech Research Institute, where Rick developed applications for remotely sensed data. Rick's career began as a GIS Technician for the County of Ingham, followed by a consulting role at Arbortext, Inc. Rick holds a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Geography and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geographic Information Science from Michigan State University.
