Sam Firke

Sam Firke is a data analyst currently employed at the City of Ann Arbor since February 2021, where responsibilities include managing the complete data pipeline utilizing SQL, Airflow, and R, alongside maintaining a tech stack with Azure containers. Firke also serves on the Project Management Committee for Apache Superset, a prominent open-source BI platform, having been elected as a committer. Previous experience includes over a decade at TNTP, where roles ranged from Analytics Director to Analyst, focusing on data science implementations and educational data analysis. Additionally, Firke taught high school mathematics at Chicago Public Schools as part of Teach For America. Educational qualifications include a BA in Information Science and Linguistics from Cornell University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University.
