Jacqueline Rhoades has a strong background in civil engineering and public works. Jacqueline is currently the Director of Public Works for the City of Arvada, where they oversee the planning, supervision, and direction of the Engineering Division. Prior to this role, they served as the City Engineer for the same department, focused on constructing public improvements and developing strategic operating plans. Before joining the City of Arvada, Jacqueline worked as an Associate at Hazen and Sawyer for seven years. Jacqueline also gained experience as an Engineer at ARCADIS for six years. Additionally, they participated in various research internships, including as a Student Research Intern for the DOE/NSF FaST Program and as an Economics and Risk Analysis Intern at the US EPA Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response.
Jacqueline Rhoades holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Environmental Engineering, which they obtained from the University of Arizona from 2005 to 2007. Prior to their master's degree, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona between 2001 and 2005. In terms of additional certifications, they became a Colorado Certified Water Professional Water Treatment Operator in November 2017 through the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Jacqueline also obtained the Professional Engineer certification from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies in October 2017, and the Professional Engineer (Civil) certification from the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration in the same month and year. Additionally, Jacqueline obtained the Water Treatment Plant Operator (Grade 2) certification from ADEQ in December 2012.
