Jim Elgar

Jim Elgar serves as Chief of Staff for the City of Atlanta since January 2022, bringing extensive experience in policy advisory roles and strategic campaign management. Prior positions include Senior Policy Advisor and Community Affairs for Office of Chairman J.P. Matzigkeit, as well as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Policy Research for the Office of Atlanta City Council President. Jim's background encompasses political campaign management, with notable roles as Campaign Manager for various candidates and Political Director for multiple election efforts. Additionally, Jim has a solid foundation in business development and analytics from a successful career in the insurance industry at Infinity Insurance. Jim holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from Georgia State University and a BA in History from Furman University.
