Karen W. Carter

Karen W. Carter has extensive experience in finance and management, currently serving as the Deputy Treasurer for the City of Atlanta since October 2011. Responsibilities include providing managerial, strategic, and operational support for Treasury operations, encompassing banking, cash management, and investments. Previous roles include Director of Management Consulting and Director of Grants Management, where oversight of financial compliance and administration for grants was key. Additional experience includes consulting as a Director at ACA Management Group and leadership in portfolio management at the Atlanta Housing Authority. Earlier roles at the City of Atlanta included Director of Municipal Finance and Business Project Manager, contributing to diverse debt portfolio management and finance department restructuring. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Finance from Atlanta University and a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University, complemented by participation in the KPMG Executive Leadership Institute for Women.
