Scott Newman has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology and public safety. Scott started their career as a System Consultant at Intergraph in 2005. Scott then worked as an IT Director at Adams County Communication Center, Inc. from 2006 to 2012, and later served as the Deputy Director and Acting Executive Director at the same organization in 2012 and 2014 respectively. In 2014, they joined Intrado, Inc. as a Senior Program Manager until 2015. Since 2015, they have been associated with the City of Aurora, first as a Public Safety Subject Matter Expert and later holding positions as a Technical Infrastructure Manager, Chief Information & Strategy Officer (Interim), and currently as the Chief Information Officer.

Scott Newman attended Metropolitan State University of Denver from 1994 to 1995, studying Mathematics and Computer Science. Prior to that, they attended the University of Colorado Denver from 1993 to 1994, where they pursued a degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. Scott completed their high school education at Adams City High School from 1989 to 1993, earning a Diploma with a focus on General studies.
