Catherine Gellegan-Colby has extensive experience in aquatic recreation programming, currently serving as a Recreation Programmer - Aquatics for the City of Barrie since April 2005. Responsibilities include generating and executing various aquatics programs, staff recruitment and training, and administrative tasks. Catherine has led the aquatics team at the Holly Community Centre and supervised beach operations. Additional initiatives include implementing the PFD Loaner Program and developing new programming such as Low Sensory and Female Only Swim. Previous experience includes roles as an Instructor/Lifeguard and Staff Training Conductor for the City of Mississauga, coaching various swim programs, and teaching at multiple educational institutions. Catherine holds a BA in Anthropology with a minor in Psychology from York University and a diploma in Creative Photography from Humber College.
