Neil Lipsitz is currently serving as a Beaufort City Councilman since August 2020 and is also a candidate for the position. Lipsitz has a long history in retail, having owned Lipsitz Shoes in Beaufort from July 1998 to December 2010 and operating Lipsitz Department Store from January 1972 to July 1998. Before embarking on a retail career, Lipsitz worked as a licensed realtor at Taylor Realty from July 1980 to May 1981. Education credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from USC-Coastal Carolina College, complemented by a minor in Real Estate, and previous studies at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort from 1976 to 1978.
