Ana Hagerup has a strong background in sustainability and resource conservation. Ana currently serves as the Resource Conservation Program Manager for the City of Bellevue, Washington, where they led efforts to update the Sustainable Bellevue Environmental Stewardship Plan. In their previous role as the Manager of Sustainable Real Estate at Unico Properties LLC, Ana was responsible for implementing green building strategies and sustainability management programs. Ana also worked as a Sustainability Planning Consultant at Vanasse Hangen Brustlin (VHB) Engineering, where they supported the integration of sustainability planning practices across various projects. Prior to that, Ana served as the Sustainability Coordinator at EnerNOC, working to advance the company's sustainability goals. Ana also gained experience as a Sustainable Development Assistant at the State Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, where they collected and analyzed zoning data to promote infill and redevelopment. Additionally, Ana has experience in the real estate industry, having worked as an Independent Contractor at Matrix Real Estate, representing LEED certified and BuiltGreen multifamily projects. Ana also served as the Office and Corporate Partnership Manager at Global Visionaries, a non-profit organization focused on creating a just and sustainable future.
Ana Hagerup obtained their Master of City Planning & Urban Affairs with an emphasis in Applied Sustainability from Boston University from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a major in International Studies and a minor in Policy Studies from the University of Washington in 2009. In 2008, Ana participated in the Global Studies program at the University of Virginia through Semester at Sea. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications as an Envision® Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure in January 2016 and as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C) from the U.S. Green Building Certification Institute, also in January 2016.
