Hu Dong has a diverse work experience in transportation engineering and planning. Hu started their career at China Airport Construction Corp. in 1996, where they worked as a Transportation Engineer. During their time there, they focused on airport master planning, land use, and traffic forecasting. In 2004, they joined UC Davis as a Graduate Student Researcher. Hu then worked at Perteet from 2005 to 2008 as a Transportation Engineer III, specializing in traffic operation modeling and analysis, as well as demand modeling. Since 2008, Hu Dong has been employed at the City of Bellevue. Hu started as a Transportation Modeler, where they performed demand modeling, operation modeling, and analysis, and data analysis. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Transportation Engineer at the same company.
Hu Dong has a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Transportation Engineering from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT), which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Hu then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from Western Kentucky University from 2002 to 2003. Later, Hu Dong furthered their education by obtaining another Master of Science (MS) degree, this time in Transportation, from the University of California, Davis, from 2004 to 2005.
