A monthly First Friday Art Walk brings visitors through downtown’s ever-expanding network of art galleries and often into the many new restaurants that have made Binghamton a food destination in recent years. Community members and visitors alike look forward to beloved annual events, such as the LUMA Projection Arts Festival, July Fest, Blues on the Bridge, Porchfest and the City’s famous St. Patrick's Parade Day. Binghamton was the childhood home of Rod Serling, famed American screenwriter, producer and creator of The Twilight Zone. Binghamton also boasts cultural institutions like the Ross Park Zoo — the fifth-oldest zoo in America — and the adjacent Discovery Center that make our City a major family destination. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, a Minor League Baseball affiliate of the New York Mets, provide entertainment for sports fans of all ages.
