Chris J Neves has extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Chris J has served in various leadership roles throughout their career. Currently, Neves is the Director of Information Technology & Innovation at the City of Brighton since January 2024. Previously, they were the Vice President of Information Technology at Lightning eMotors from January 2023 to December 2023.
Prior to that, Neves was the Director of IT at the City of Louisville from July 2013 to January 2023. In this role, they oversaw technical strategic planning, standardization, and innovation across all IT infrastructure and enterprise applications. Chris J was responsible for the technical strategic planning, projects, and support of critical IT infrastructure and applications for public safety and emergency communications.
Neves also has experience working as a Senior Consultant at Digeteks LLC from April 2007 to October 2008 and at Boulder Corporation from February 2001 to February 2004. In these roles, they were involved in the analysis, planning, design, and implementation of large-scale IT projects for high-profile clients.
Additionally, Neves served as the IT Manager at The Mental Health Center, serving Boulder & Broomfield Counties from February 2004 to April 2007. Chris J led the strategic design and planning for technical infrastructure and oversaw IT service desk operations.
Earlier in their career, Neves worked as a Senior Network Engineer at TriMat Software & Consulting from 1999 to 2001 and as a Network Engineer at Computer Services of America (CSA) from May 1998 to May 1999. Chris J provided consulting and support for endpoints and networks, performed LAN/WAN networking and security consulting, and managed technical projects for clients.
Neves started their career as a Network Administrator at PRIDE Marketing & Procurement from March 1996 to April 1998. Chris J managed IT system administration and operations, maintained LAN/WAN systems, and ensured endpoint and network security.

In addition, they have obtained several certifications including Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) from CompTIA's Public Technology Institute in 2018, Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) from Citrix in 2001, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) from Microsoft in 2000, Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) from Citrix in 1998, Microsoft Certified Network Engineer (MCSE) NT4 & 2000 from Microsoft in 1998, and Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) from Novell in 1997.
