Makala Barton

Makala Barton, PHR, is an experienced professional with a diverse background in tourism management, government affairs, community relations, and business consulting. Currently serving as the Tourism Manager for the City of Broken Arrow since April 2024, Makala previously held key positions at the Tulsa Regional Chamber, including Vice President and Director of Government Affairs, as well as Community Relations Liaison for the City of Broken Arrow. Additional experience includes roles as a Certified Business Consultant and RBC SBDC Administrator for the Colorado Small Business Development Center Network and Economic Development & Public Relations Coordinator for Rio Blanco County. Makala also has experience as a Retail Business Owner/Operator and Executive Assistant. Educational credentials include a B.S. in Business Management and an A.S. in Human Resources Management from Penn Foster Group, as well as participation in the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.
