Erica Lay is an experienced professional in sustainability and climate action, currently serving as the Manager of Climate Action and Energy for the City of Burnaby since January 2021. Prior to this role, Erica held various positions at SFU Sustainability Office from October 2012 to March 2020, including Associate Director and Director (acting), where responsibilities included preparing key sustainability reports and developing the SFU Sustainability Strategic Plan. Earlier experience includes roles at The University of British Columbia as a Research Assistant, an internship at BC Parks, and positions with the Climate Action Secretariat and Corporate Sustainability at the BC Ministry of Citizens' Services. Additionally, Erica worked as a Youth Coordinator and Project Manager for UN-Habitat in Tanzania. Erica holds a Master of Arts in Planning from The University of British Columbia and a Certificate in Public Participation from the International Association of Public Participation, along with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from McGill University.
