Alex McElroy

Alex McElroy is an experienced municipal leader currently serving as the Southeast Metropolitan Planning Organization Executive Director and Director of Development for the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri since December 2015. Prior roles include Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Bloomington, IL, where responsibilities encompassed budget management, project facilitation, and performance audits, and Assistant City Manager for the City of Centralia, IL, where similar duties were performed. Earlier experience includes serving as Assistant to the Administrator for Pierce Township and providing technology support at Cleveland State University. Alex holds a Master of Public Administration from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Heidelberg University. Education is ongoing at the University of Oklahoma.
