Joseph De Mond currently serves as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Carbondale Government since September 2023. Prior to this role, Joseph was an Assistant Public Defender for St. Clair County from April 2022 to September 2023 and gained experience as an Assistant Public Defender (711 License) during a brief tenure in June 2021. Joseph's legal education at Elon University School of Law culminated in a Doctor of Law degree with a focus on Criminal Justice/Police Science. While studying at Elon, Joseph also completed an internship with the St. Clair County ASA Traffic/Misdemeanor Division and worked as a public relations intern at City Center Waco, where advertisement materials were created for community events. Previous experience includes serving as an Aquatics Instructor for the Boy Scouts of America: Circle Ten Council and an intern at the McLennan County Criminal District Attorney's Office. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Baylor University.
