John Howell

John Howell has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John is currently employed as the Head of Data, Analytics, and Security at the City of Casey since February 2023. In this role, they focus on providing leadership and building customer-focused and collaborative relationships. John is also responsible for executing Casey's enterprise data and insights plan and implementing appropriate governance models supporting data and analytics.

Prior to their current role, John worked as the Business Intelligence Manager at Deakin University from October 2014 to January 2023. In this position, they led the business intelligence and analytics capability, covering strategic and operational visualizations and information management. John collaborated across different areas of the university to help deliver its strategic goals through data analysis and modeling.

Earlier in their career, John served in various roles at the University of Bath, including Assistant Director IT, Project Manager, and Systems Developer. From November 2006 to August 2014, they led the Management Information Systems teams, developed enterprise systems, and managed IT security and software licensing. Before joining the University of Bath, John worked as an Analyst Programmer at Deloitte & Touche from July 1994 to September 1996.

John Howell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a 2:1 classification from the University of Hertfordshire. John also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Bath.
