Rich Malacoff

Rich Malacoff, AICP, has extensive experience in urban planning and community development, currently serving as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Cathedral City since June 2022. Malacoff has held various planning roles, including Part-Time Principal Planner at The Altum Group since July 2016, where responsibilities involve project management and zoning analysis. Previous positions include Acting Community Development Director and Senior Planner for the City of Desert Hot Springs, and Senior Planner at the City of Cathedral City for eight years, demonstrating a strong background in managing planning departments and working on land use entitlements. Malacoff's academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Florida State University and a Master of Urban Planning from Hunter College.
