John Cummins

John Cummins is a highly experienced professional in emergency management and public safety with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Coordinator for the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management at the City of Cedar Park since January 2018, John is responsible for overseeing emergency preparedness programs and maintaining compliance with relevant laws. John also administers the sUAS program across city departments. Previously, John held various leadership roles at the American Red Cross, including Regional Disaster Officer and Senior Disaster Program Manager, where responsibilities included implementing disaster services and managing regional operations. John’s earlier experience includes key positions such as Fire Chief and Emergency Manager in Pontiac and Stone Park, as well as adjunct faculty roles in paramedic and nursing education. John holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science Management from the American Public University System.
